WHY DOES A SEPTIC TANK NEED TO BE PUMPED/INSPECTED?
In addition to regional bylaws, regular pumping and inspection helps to prevent future issues which become very expensive, very quickly. Keeping your tank clean and maintained helps prevent harmful bacteria and pathogens which, in turn keep your home and community safe and helps protect our environment.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET MY SEPTIC TANK PUMPED?
In the Capital Regional District, the Septic Maintenance Bylaw 3479 states that you must have your septic tank pumped at least once every 5 years. Depending on the number of residents in your home more frequent maintenance my be required.
